I moved a few accounts over there to get the generous bonus. They say that TradeStation will deposit the bonus in the “month after” you have been with them for 270 days. October is that month for me, but so far the bonus has not been deposited. I assume they wait until the last day of the month.

Overall, I think TradeStation is pretty good. Free trading (of course), website is pretty easy to use, customer service is responsive, and they offer a stock-lending program where you can make some extra cash by allowing the broker to lend your shares to short sellers.

In reply to Troy Edington. oh come on who uses fax. probably phone lines are much easier to tap into than encrypted email. not that I like them, I lost few hundred dollars in fees because of how unclear their site is.

Inquired as to bonus availability. Then received an e-mail “are you going to open a Trade Station Account, or not?” I detect attitude here, if that is view of customer marketing then what is customer operations going to do? Having been skunked by other brokers who seemed all courtesy and helpfulness before the fact, I shall not bother with this one.

Whatever you do, do NOT use TradeStation. I just went through the debacle of trying to open an account and move assets over. Here are the issues I experienced.

1) They lost my ACAT transfer form that had my SSN on it, no explanation as to where it went (It was FAXed)
2) Account manager lied to me and said their team had my FAX and then the next day emailed me and said it was lost.
3) Then told me it was the wrong FAX number (Even though that was the number on their ACAT transfer site)
4) Then asked me to just send it in an email to them (Absolutely, no clue on security. Emailing your SSN is a major security risk and I am sorry PDF password protection is trivial to break so quit telling people to use it)
5) Tried to escalate to a manager 5 days ago to explain my issues. There was no follow-up from a manager.

Even though the bonus’s are tempting, TradeStation does not have proper security protocols in place to protect your data on account setups. I can imagine how poor their internal security protocols are if they cannot get the first step right. I tried to give them a chance, but they blew it.

Hope this saves others some pain on TradeStation…
