HSBC bonuses are designed only for the fortunate few. Got through all the standard identity multiple choices and then whacked with what was the monthly payment on a loan from auto finance co. from seven years prior that was in effect only two months, $10 intervals in 5 steps. Toll-free number listed to query was answered by empty phone line. I ALWAYS pass Chex Systems! I ALWAYS get through to a representative and talk banking language to them. Never encountered this vaporware technique in 3 decades of being in the banking business.

In reply to Vicky. VIcky, in case 1 you could schedule money transfer from other bank accounts for at least $5000 for that stipulated time. In case 2, this needs to come from Automated Clearing House like your salary, government benefits etc.

What’s the difference between these two? Just doing salary direct deposit would satisfy both ?

1. Make recurring Direct Deposits totaling at least $5,000 from a third party to your HSBC Premier checking account(s) per calendar month; and

2. Receive monthly Direct Deposits totaling at least $5,000 into your checking account for 3 consecutive months from the second full calendar month after account opening
