I’d love to move my business account away from Wells Fargo, which would give me a free personal account, plus the direct deposit would give me the bonus. Does their system verify your address to receive the bonus, or can you just enter the promo code online?

I live in Houston. I tried to open online and I got a call from Iberia that their $300 “EARN300” promo is targeted and I would have had to receive a direct mailing. I can try again in branch.
I got the $300 bonus. I have no issue at all & I got the 300 bonus on the 90th day.
I applied online in February ( I live 20 miles from the closest North Texas branch) and I received the bonus recently. It was a smooth transaction overall, but the online banking is clunky and I don’t see the bank to bank transfer option as promised.
I guess I am the lucky one. I open the high interest checking account online Mar 14, 2016 and had no problem at all. Someone called me next day to confirm and approve. Then I was able to set up the account and transfer the money electronically, I also confirmed with the person contacting me regarding the $300 Checking account bonus, he said it was on my file. I havent completed the 15 qualified transactions so I hope I will get the bonus when my requirements are all fulfilled.
Has anyone able to receive this bonus or even confirmed that it was applied correctly to the account? I opened up the account in branch but when checking with customer service, they say they don’t have access to that info and asking me to contact branch. That’s really odd and raising doubts about bank honoring the promotion?

tried applying online, I qualify by city & state. They denied me. I called the 800 # & asked if I walked into a branch with the code for the promo would I get the bonus. She said yes. I called 3 area branches to make sure I wouldn’t waste my trip. All the branches said I needed the flyer. The code by itself would not work.

I qualify because I live in Houston. But I applied online, got zero error msgs, got a confirmation #, then got a rejection email the next day saying they did not get all my info! There would have been error msgs during the app process if I had left off anything.
in other words, THEY MANAGED TO LOSE MY FINANCIAL INFO!
I tried phoning them but they also proved incompetent there too! They would transfer me to another dept. that had gone home for the day. They would *insist* on getting my account # when I told them they never gave me one. I tried giving them my confirmation # instead, but they hung up on me!
I tried calling several times because of the $300 bonus, but IT’S JUST NOT WORTH IT!!! The aggravation factor is WAY TOO HIGH. The risk of them losing you financial info is also WAY TOO HIGH, and then you can’t get anyone with an iota of intelligence to even address your issue, much less solve them.
Did not see Dane’s post about TN locations before applying. I live in Nashville. They sent rejection email stating ‘no banking centers in your area’. Pretty frustrating since they allow you to complete the entire application…then reject you the next day!

In Texas this only available to people living in Houston or Dallas. You have to go to a branch to open an account.
